The memorable internship of a FPT University student in Japan

Do Xuan Viet- a K9 student majoring in Software Engineering at FPT University had a memorable internship with his friends under the guidance of the staff at Scoville, Japan in this July.

The main task of Viet at Scoville is designing the sample interface then deploy the actual interface to the user. This is a really amazing opportunity for Viet as he can apply his knowledge at university to work.

In the early days of work, Viet was a bit “shocked” by the progress in the company. However, when starting with the new project, Viet has quickly shattered all confusion and anxiety to get used to the pace of work. In addition, the young but professional working environment has helped Viet feel more confident and matured. Even though he had to work until 10 pm, he still feels very normal.

For Viet, the chance to practice at Scoville is the most satisfaction which he ever had. Being able to communicate with new friends, working in a matched environment and earning a lot of living knowledge are the valuable things he had after the internship.

Viet successfully won a two-month scholarship at the Scoville Company (Japan) (internship with visa costs, travel, accommodation and salary based on performance). His friends expressed their admiration and asked the secret to “hunt” foreign scholarship. “At that time, I was doing graduation project so I do not have much time preparing for the interview. My secret is simply being relaxed and expressive, ” Viet shared.

During the interview to receive the scholarship, Viet passed two parts including presentations on a certain issue that exists in Vietnam and Q&A with leaders of Scoville Company. He chose to present the issue of overcrowding in public hospitals and came up with an online appointment solution. “Although I was a bit freak out in the beginning but I was quite confidently presenting the point,” he proudly stated. “Thanks to soft skills lessons and presentation skills, I had enough experience and knowledge to apply to the reality”.

The software engineering student has a habit of reading the recruiting newsletter on the Uniap system as well as on the Fanpage of the Student Affairs Department. This has brought Viet opportunities to practice at Scoville, Japan. During the interview process and the necessary procedures, the Student Affairs Department is also very supportive. Hopefully, with the foreign internship experience and knowledge gained at FPT University, the plans that Do Xuan Viet cherishes will become reality and success in the near future.
