Vice-Chancellor and President

UCSI University, Malaysia

As the Vice-Chancellor and President of UCSI University since September 2013, Professor Khalid has been instrumental in enhancing the University’s standing and stature since he took charge and as a result, UCSI has gained various accolades and gained numerous recognitions for academic reputation and employability, to name a few.

A clinical cardiologist by training, Professor Khalid had played key roles in higher education – including serving as Dean of Medicine at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and later as Foundation Dean at Universiti Teknologi MARA’s Faculty of Medicine. He has served on the National Science Council and is recently appointed to the National Council for Higher Education.

Professor Khalid’s international outlook was best demonstrated in his development and forging of strategic partnerships between UCSI and world leading universities, including Harvard University, Imperial College London, Tsinghua and Melbourne, among others.



Professor of Accounting and Deputy Dean (International)

Monash Business School, Australia

Michaela is Professor of Accounting and Deputy Dean (International) at Monash Business School. In this role, she is responsible for the strategic international engagement of the School; and has recently led the School to successful reaccreditation by AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.

Joining Monash in 2007, Michaela is a highly regarded educator, with her passion and commitment to the student learning experience being formally recognised through numerous awards. Michaela maintains a strong presence in professional and industry circles, most recently as a member of CPA Australia’s Environment, Society and Governance Centre of Excellence.

Her research focuses on corporate governance, financial reporting, executive compensation and sustainability, and integrated reporting, with her work being published widely across a range of international journals.


Keynote speaker 3: MRS. NAZIMA CANDA

Director of International Relations

EPITA (Ecole Pour l’Informatique et les Techniques Avancées), France

As an international relations executive, Nazima has spent her entire career working on implementing internationalization strategies in organizations.

Nazima started her career in 1995 in the airline industry in France and continued to develop her experience in the luxury & perfume industry passing by government funded organizations. After 25 years of successful experience in various managerial positions not only in France but also in Abu Dhabi and Singapore, she is currently the Director of International Relations at EPITA.

Internationalization has always been her focus and the common thread of all her positions. Since the past 8 years, she has been working in the Higher Education with again an emphasis on implementing innovative internationalization strategies.


Keynote speaker 4: DR. NGUYEN THANH NAM

Former CEO of FPT Corporation

Founder and President of FUNiX – The First Online University of Vietnam

A Vietnamese businessman, former CEO of FPT Corporation and currently the President of FUNiX Online University, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Nam trained and received his PhD in Mathematics at Moscow State University.

Dr. Nam returned to Vietnam right at the time FPT Corporation was founded and had since played essential roles at FPT in pioneering efforts to create and export software products made in Vietnam. From 2012-2015, Dr. Nam became the Vice Chairman and was in charge of globalisation strategies of FPT University. Dr. Nam then founded FUNiX – a member of FPT Education and the first online university in Vietnam.

On top of numerous leadership positions, Dr. Nam is considered an inspirational leader in the startup community of Vietnam, a pioneer in exporting software solutions and a passionate educator in innovating higher education of Vietnam.
