Desire to experience Asian culture in the best way, learn various solutions for economic and social problems as well as explore global learning environment, Catarina Antunes da Costa and António Francisco Castro e Almeida Romano Colaço- two students from the Nova School of Business and Economics (Nova SBE) in Portugal decided to choose FPT University to study International Business.
At the beginning, as many other foreign students, Catarina and Atónio also have to face with language barriers and culture shock. However, with the openness and friendliness of FPT students and teachers, they quickly get acquainted with the new environment. After only few weeks, Catarina and António have made a lot of new friends.
“Everyone is very friendly and keeps asking if we need anythings. Lecturers are also very nice to help us join the class although we do not know Vietnamese,” Catarina said. “We also attended the FPTU English Funny Club where we know many new friends”. With Atónio, football and games with his classmates made him feel interesting and comfortable after school.
“At FPT University, the learning environment is quite comfortable, the teaching method is very excellent in both soft- skills and knowledge,” Catarina shared. “It seems like no distance between lecturers and students that my old university in Portugal does not have. Therefore, I like the personal development environment here”.
FPT University started its globalization strategy in 2013. And so far, the quantity and quality of international students studying at the university has increased dramatically.
Currently, FPT University has 140 international students studying long-term programs including bachelor’s degree in software engineering, bachelor’s degree in business administration, and masters in software engineering. Of which, the bachelor has 83 students.
In addition, FPT University also receives about 300 students every year for short-term study or cultural exchanges programs from the US, Japan, France, Germany, Australia, Korea, etc.
In the coming time, FPT will increase the enrollment quota for international students at least 50% annually. At the same time, the University will also send hundreds of Vietnamese students to study abroad so that they can have access to the education of other countries in order to promote educational globalization.
