FPT Education Global will be hosting a webinar series this June on Virtual Mobility – From Ideas to Implementation from June 10 – June 12, 2020, addressing a rising interest in virtual study abroad and exchange initiatives.
As distance learning becomes the primary method of education delivery, higher education institutions have initiated changes in the implementation of mobility programs from physical to virtual. “Covid-19 has caused unforeseeable disruptions in university study worldwide. However, students cannot stop learning. They cannot stop connecting to the world” – said Mr. Cuong Hoang, Dean of FPT Education Global.
Many leading educators have indicated a global need for virtual mobility experience. Now they also face multiple concerns regarding how to implement a meaningful virtual mobility experience for students, how to ensure the quality of those programs without yet any detailed guidance, or how to compensate the local connections, the transnational interaction and the cultural immersion that have long been benchmarks of traditional mobility programs.
FPT Education Global’s webinar series serves as a platform connecting key stakeholders—mobility officers, faculties, third party providers, hosting companies—in a discussion of the implementation of virtual mobility programs. Different types of virtual mobility experience will be presented as speakers discuss solutions to assure program quality and make the experience indispensable for students.
The webinar series consists of three sessions:
- First session: Virtual Mobility: From Ideas to Implementation on June 10, 2020 at 8:00-9:00am (GMT+7).
Different stakeholders such as mobility program organizers, third party providers, and listing page holders set an overarching discussion on how virtual mobility programs are to be implemented in the new normal.
- Second session: Virtual Study Tour: Moving Intensive Overseas Courses to the Online Platform on June 11, 2020 at 8:00-9:00am (GMT+7).
This session fosters a discussion among university faculties, mobility officers, third party providers on how to effectively convert study tours from a physical to an online mobility experience where students can still maximize their learning experience.
- Thirs session: Virtual Internship: Why a Remote Program is Essential for University Students on June 12, 2020 at 8:00-9:00am (GMT+7).
Program organizers, virtual internship students and hosting companies will share their experience hosting and joining a virtual internship program and how the experience can contribute to the personal development of students.
The webinar series welcomes the participation of all educators, mobility program officers and third-party providers interested in the future of virtual mobility.
