Japan is thirsty of IT engineers

Working in the Japanese market for almost 14 years, P3.M35 project manager of FPT Software Le Tec Nen shared that the demand for IT human resources in Japan is unlimited in the next 5 to 10 years.

On the morning of April 14, DevDay Danang 2018 was officially held at Da Nang University of Technology, attracting about 2,000 students, software engineers, administrators, educators and entrepreneurs. This is the event to share knowledge, update technology trends in the world and connect in the IT community of the Central Vietnam.

Mr. Le Tec Nen is one of 34 guest speakers. FPT representatives helped the IT community understand better the work of Bridge Engineers (BrSE), considerations for BrSE for the Japanese market as well as opportunities and challenges for BrSE.

BrSE requires programming skills in combination with the Japanese language, especially in the business culture. As a bridge between the project team and the client, BrSE should listen to, communicate accurately and take control of the progress. In addition to the Japanese, he also advised BrSE to know the programmer to understand the requirements of the customer.

Working in the Japanese market for almost 14 years, Mr. Nen said that the sunrise country market has changed a lot in the recent years so the demand for IT human resources is in shortage. Typically, his project has about 400 people, will increase to 800 in September, and continue to grow rapidly.

Mr. Le Tec Nen shared with IT community about FPT Software’s BrSE program.

FPT Sofware’s 10,000 BrSE program has been operated since October 2014. Until now, about 600 students are studying and working in Japan. In addition to seven graduation courses, the program has 3 other courses starting in this year.

The program is built on the successful experience of bridge engineer training program implemented by FPT Software for many years. It is expected that about 5,000 engineers will be trained by studying in 6-12 months in Japan while the remaining 5,000 engineers will be trained in Vietnam under the IT training program of FPT University and FPT Software.

In 6-12 months, students will be taught to use Japanese fluently not only in daily life but also in IT field. During the study period, participants have the opportunity to learn interviewing skills, CV writing skills and IT process in Japan as well as  join Japanese level assessment to improve their ability to be employed in the local company. Students will also be offered part- time jobs and internships at FPT Japan or FPT’s partners in Japan and IT courses on the online system.

For participants in training courses in Japan, FPT Software is committed to offer a five-year financial guarantee with a loan of VND 346 million (around USD 15,000). Upon completion, students will be offered the opportunity to earn a minimum salary of USD 2,000 per month in Japan. Those who do not meet the requirements of graduation will be assigned by FPT Software to continue their training in Vietnam and will come back to work in Japan when they have chance.
