FPT University won high prize at ICPC 2018

The award announcement ceremony of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) 2018 was recently held in Hanoi. FPT University has two excellent teams which received the second prize and the encouragement prize.

The announcement and award ceremony of the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) 2018 was recently held on November 28 at the 27th Vietnam Informatics Olympiad (OLP’18) and ICPC Asia in Hanoi.

Prior to that, in the end of October and early November, more than 4,000 students participated in three rounds of regional contest. On November 4, 248 teams of nearly 750 students took part in the online contest of national ICPC 2018.

At the opening ceremony of OLP’18 and ICPC Asia Hanoi 2018, the Organizing Committee officially announced the results and awarded the top prize of the National ICPC 2018. Accordingly, amazingbamboo_with_coccoc (Hanoi University of Technology), HCMUS-Intimidate (University of Natural Sciences – Vietnam National University) and HCMIU (International University- Ho Chi Minh City) were awarded the first prize.

The second prizes was awarded to four teams: EPU_NHT (Electric Power University), FPTU StrTok (FPT University), VnArmy (Military Academy of Technology) and PTIT.DoTTA (Institute of Posts and Telecommunications Technology).

The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is the premier global programming competition conducted by and for the world’s universities. The ICPC is affiliated with the ICPC Foundation and is headquartered at Baylor University.

The contest fosters creativity, teamwork, and innovation in building new software programs, and enables students to test their ability to perform under pressure. The contest has raised aspirations and performance of generations of the world’s problem solvers in the computing sciences and engineering.

The ICPC is comprised of several levels of competition:  Local Contest, Regional Contest, Regional Championships and The World Finals.
