On July 24 at the Alpha Lounge, the community group brought talented members together who have a passion for modern dance, flag dance and drumming – Vredon from the Kingdom of Belgium, the heart of Europe visited and exchanged the musical culture with students of FPT University for the first time in Vietnam.
Founded in 1980, the group has been created for 37 years up to now. Vredon has gathered 190 members from all over the world. Of all, the youngest is only 6 years old. Every summer in the year, this world-famous community group starts colorful and lively tours that spread the spirit of Belgian people’s artistic and cultural imagination over their country and through more than 35 countries in 37 years.
On the first visit to FPT University, the members of this community group gave performances including modern dance, drums and flag dance that were performed on big stages during worldwide tours in the Alpha hall.
Beside art performances, dancers of the group spent a lot of time guiding more than 30 students of FPT University to participate in the workshop of flag dance performance before despite hot weather in Hoa Lac Campus.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan (K12 student) timely recorded the beautiful images at the performance of Vredon community group. Mr. Tuan said, “This is my first time to watch the flag dance. Dancers from Belgium dance beautifully and devotedly. They perform many twists and turns that I feel very difficult. If you tell me to practice and perform, I probably never will (laugh). “
This is the first time that the Vredon community group has arrived in Vietnam and spent their valuable time performing only in FPT. The group made a deep impression on FPT staff and faculty members for their colorful collective dance performances and the flag dance with a lot of unexpected choreography, making the admiration for all viewers. Hopefully with the spirit of this summer’s exchange, FPT students have gained more knowledge about the cultural values of the beautiful country, Belgium.
