FPT Tower kicked off construction

With the 14th office complex, FPT has demonstrated its pioneering investment in building complexes and office buildings nationwide following the campus model of giant technology corporations in the world.

On December 28, FPT kicked off the FPT Tower complex on a total area of ​​nearly 16,000 m2 in Cau Giay district, Hanoi. Of which, the construction area is estimated about 102,500 m2.  Upon completion, this project is expected to provide workplaces for about 9,000 people in the IT industry. This is the 14th complex of FPT and also the largest construction site of the organization up to now.

The groundbreaking ceremony has witnessed the attendance of Deputy Minister of Science and Technology- Mr. Tran Van Tung; Deputy Minister of Information and Communications- Mr. Phan Tam; Representatives of Hanoi People’s Committee and People’s Committee of Cau Giay District and departments; leaders of FPT and member units; as well as staff and media.

“In the last 10 years, FPT’s staff has grown by nearly 16% annually. It is expected that in the period 2018-2020, FPT will maintain the growth rate of 18% and reach the scale of more than 50,000 by 2020,” FPT CEO Bui Quang Ngoc spoke at the ceremony. “We expect FPT Tower will contribute to the development of Vietnam’s technology ecosystem, especially during the 4th Industrial Revolution”.

As of December 2017, FPT has nearly 32,000 employees working in 21 countries worldwide, an increase of 13% compared to 2016, accounting for nearly 10% of total employment in the software, digital content and IT services industry of Vietnam.

To ensure the development of human resources, FPT has always pioneered the construction of complexes and office buildings nationwide following the campus model of giant technology groups in the world. These works not only create a creative working environment for staff but also contribute to a modern technology ecosystem, contributing to the development of IT centers and hi-tech parks in Vietnam as well as affirming Vietnam’s position in the global technology value chain.

FPT is also the only technology company in Vietnam to invest in building large-scale universities and software parks in four key economic areas of the country such as Hanoi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho.

Minister of Information and Communications suggested FPT continue to affirm its position as a leader in the field of IT in Vietnam, thus contributing to the successful implementation of the overall goal to build the country’s strong IT,” Mr. Phan Tam, Vice Minister of Information and Communications said. “In addition, FPT Corporation should continue to contribute to the Ministry of Information and Communications to improve the policy mechanism to promote Vietnam’s IT development”.

Located in the prime location of Cau Giay district, close to the first IT center of Hanoi, FPT Tower consists of 21-storey and 17- storey buildings , along with a modern eight-storey data center. Beside the design and usage of environmentally friendly materials, FPT Tower also has a garden landscape  system with many green trees and lawns, creating a relaxing space for employees to work. The project also connects to Cau Giay Park in order to create a green space.

Mr. Phan Tam, Deputy Minister of Information and Communication highly appreciated the model of building FPT complexes.

At present, FPT has put into operation 11 office complexes in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City with a total area of 236,844 m2, accounting for more than 40% of total office space of concentrated IT areas and meeting nearly 25,000 jobs. This is also one of the important factors for FPT to stay in the Top companies having the best working environment.

So far, FPT owns 17 offices throughout the country. Of these, 11 are already in use while three projects have just started construction including FPT Tower Complex, FPT University Complex and FPT Software Park in Can Tho, and FPT University in Ho Chi Minh City.

It is expected that in the coming time, FPT will commence 3 more office complexes nationwide including F-Ville Phase 3 in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park- Hanoi in the first quarter of 2018, F-Town 3 building at the High-Tech Park in District 9- Ho Chi Minh City in the first quarter of 2018 and FPT University in Danang.
