FPT Japan opens Research Center in Okinawa

Mr. Tran Dang Hoa, the director of FPT Japan, signed the decision of establishing FPT Research & Development Center and he assigned Mr. Luong Hong Hai to be the Director of the Center. Mr. Hai will be in charge of FPT business activities and development in Okinawa and nearby areas.




The Center is set to begin in July and it will operate as a nearshore center focusing on improving the accessibility to advanced technology in order to transform creative ideas into products and service. This projects aims to accelerate the growth of FPT in the Japanese market. The objective in five years’ time will be increase the number of people from 10 to 500 in FPT Japan unit in Okinawa.


Okinawa is a province consisting 60 islands, commonly known as the Ryukyu Islands, located in the southern part of Kyushu and surrounded by the East China Sea. Okinawa is the main island, the largest in terms of size and population; plays the role of the administrative, economic and cultural center of the province.




After more than a decade in Japan, FPT Japan has recruited more than 800 personnel working in four offices in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka. FPT is a major partner of nearly 300 Japanese corporations such as Toyota, Panasonic or Sony.  It is estimated that by the end of 2017 FPT will earn a revenue of US$170 million. By 2020, FPT aims at making US$1 billion of foreign revenue and FPT Japan expects to contribute 50% of the objective.
