Three Vietnamese technology and telecommunications groups including VNG, Viettel, FPT have been shortlisted in the 40 most valuable Vietnamese brands selected by Forbes.
Forbes Vietnam recently announced a list of the 40 most valuable brands in Vietnam, chosen from more than 300.
Among them, VNG is a leading internet company, with a total brand value of US$35.5 million; Viettel holds 52% market share of Vietnam’s telecommunications; while FPT is the largest technology corporation in the country. Forbes Vietnam valued the brand of FPT at USD 169 million, ranking 10th on the list.
This is the third time that Forbes Vietnam has made the list of 40 most valuable brands in Vietnam and this year, there are a lot of positive changes.
The group of companies in consumer goods still occupies large quantities but the finance and banking group has narrowed the gap as more and more banks have been listed on the stock exchange.
In addition to three old brands of technology-telecommunications sector, there are two new outstanding representatives, namely VNPT and Vinaphone.
According to Forbes Vietnam, this list was made based on methodology of Forbes business magazine, calculating the brand’s contribution to the company’s business performance.
After making a preliminary list of more than 80 branded enterprises, Forbes Vietnam calculates pre-tax income and interest, then determining the contribution of intangible assets with the support of Viet Capital Securities, which based on financial report of companies on the stock market.
