‘It’s amazing for everything in Vietnam’

It is the feeling of Natthaharid Kamonphan (Miew) and the majority of Thai students after attending Internsive English Program hosted by FPT University in this July.

 

For the purpose of improving English capability, Thai students from Nakhon Pathom Rajabhat University (NPRU) has experienced an amazing summer English course in Da Nang, a coastal city in central Vietnam.

 

Touted as one of the twenty cleanest cities in the world and the most livable city in Vietnam, Da Nang is a destination that students from NRPU chose to improve English proficiencies through a summer course.

Through the Intensive English Program, students not only had the opportunity to improve comprehensive language skills, especially, communication skills but also the chance to immersing in the English speaking environment with local students there.

According to Daowarin Dechpong, the English teacher was an inspirational person that make her want to join the class everyday: “Ms. Khoi often conducts a lot of activities and games to teach us. If you win games she will give you a present in the next day. That makes me feel I want to study with her every day.”

 

As part of the program, students are facilitated to visit companies located in FPT City to get to know about the working environment and how a business run in Vietnam.

Da Nang City is part of a long thin peninsula with a lot of beautiful sightseeing spots. In weekend, students along with their local buddies often go out of town to explore the tourist attractions nearby to know more about Vietnamese culture and enjoy street food.

The variety of street food is attributed to the exploring journey of those young people. Get used to the taste of Vietnamese is interesting experience that those Thai students had chance to go through.

In my third day in Vietnam, I had chance to drink a Vietnamese beverage called Nước mía. It tastes funny. Just like fried eggs in Thailand.” said Chuenkamol Boonthong, Nursing student at NPRU

Intensive English Program developed by FPT University

Intensive English Program developed by FPT University helps students being exposed to an intercultural environment in class and real world communication practice to use the language effectively in regular events and even workplace.

In addition to the class hours, students have chance to explore the sightseeing spots and tourist attractions in Vietnam along with the companionship of local buddies.

This summer, there were nearly 80 students from Thailand, Japan, and Brunei coming to Vietnam to improve their English capability.
